Study Purpose/Description
The Bi+ Sexual Health and HIV study aims to investigate and understand the sexual health and HIV needs of bi+ people in Australia to address the substantial gap in research on this area.
This study is run as a ollaboration between researchers from UNSW, Sydney, La Trobe University and Sydney University and bi+ community members to hold the first national community-led survey about bi+ sex, relationships and sexual health. This anonymous online survey is open to all adults who identity as bi+ or have attraction to or sex with more than one gender.
Bi+ is an umbrella term that includes identities such as bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, fluid, and queer and many more.
What’s Involved?
If you decide to take part in this research study, we will ask you to complete a 30 – 45 minute, anonymous, online questionnaire. Questions will explore a range of topics related to sexual identity and attraction, sex, relationships, and sexual health (including STIs/HIV and health services) and social networks.
The survey will also ask about potentially sensitive topics such as alcohol and drug use, types of sexual behaviour, discrimination, sexual violence and coercion, and mental health.
These questions are optional and completely anonymous and pose no risk of your data being identifiable or linked back to you.
