FOMOS

Researchers from Deakin University's Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition want to understand the effectiveness of a home-based program in improving Postnatal Depression symptoms in women after childbirth.

Study Purpose/Description

This study will assess how well the Food, Move, Sleep (FOMOS) home-based improves Postnatal Depression symptoms in women after childbirth.

The home-based program supports healthy eating, physical activity and sleep using digital tools (website, text messaging, social media), along with providing home exercise equipment.

What’s Involved?

Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group or a control group (who will receive part of the intervention after data collection). Those in the intervention group may receive free home exercise equipment and access to digital resources and support for six months.

Participants will wear a wrist activity monitor for one week at three different points and complete four online surveys throughout the program and follow-up period.

As a thank you for their participation, all participants will receive a $20 eGift card at the end of each of the three main assessment points (baseline, 6 months, and 12 months), totalling $60.

If you think you might be eligible and interested you can complete a screening survey at: https://redcap.deakin.edu.au/surveys/?s=3P7JJFWA3KPJT7CC.
