CLARiFY diabetes complications study

Researchers from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) want to understand how Type 1 Diabetes impacts brain health.

Study Purpose/Description

Researchers at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) are seeking healthy adults 28-45 years old to participate as control participants in a study focused on understanding how Type 1 Diabetes impacts brain health.

What’s Involved?

This study will take place at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (located in Parkville, Victoria). The assessment will take ~4 hours and will involve the following tasks:

  • Background questionnaires
  • Cognitive tasks
  • A brain MRI scan (approx. 40 minutes)

Following the completion of all tasks (as above), participants will receive a $150 gift card for their time. A free parking and café lunch voucher will also be provided.

Recruitment criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are aged between 28-45 years
  • Are willing to attend a one-off (4-hour) assessment appointment at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (located in Parkville, Victoria).
  • Do not have any history of chronic illness, head injury or neurosurgery or claustrophobia
  • Do not have metal in your body (this does not include piercings)
