Study Purpose/Description

Researchers want to hear directly from parents themselves about how they experience the mental demands that come with caregiving.

The researchers think that the activities of parenthood and the mental load —all the thinking, planning, and decision-making that comes with raising children may lead to lasting changes to cognition (our thinking skills), brain structure and function.

They want to explore this further by hearing directly from parents themselves about how they experience such parenting responsibilities and the mental load that comes with caregiving.

What’s Involved?

The study will take place online in February 2025; the total time commitment is about 70 minutes. It will involve:

  • A 15-minute online survey about your parenthood status and responsibilities.
  • A 45-minute focus group via Zoom where you will share your thoughts, experiences, and perspectives with up to six other parents and our team.
  • An optional 10-minute feedback session where you will share your thoughts on the tool we develop
