Study Purpose/Description
Researchers from the Daffodil Centre want to hear from people who will be eligible for lung cancer screening in Australia about potential stigma. Participants will need to have a smoking history of at least 30 pack years. A pack-year is used to describe how many cigarettes you have smoked in your lifetime, with a pack equal to 20 cigarettes. You can calculate your pack years using this online tool.
What’s Involved?
If you join this study, you will participate in an individual, semi-structured interview in English via Zoom at a convenient time. Interviews will be audio-recorded and transcribed. You will discuss your thoughts, opinions, and experiences regarding stigma in lung cancer screening and healthcare, and how it affects your emotions and behaviours.
The interview will last about 45-60 minutes.
Participants will receive a $50 gift voucher for as a token of appreciation.
